Park day and 8 weeks old

Thursdays are usually pretty busy days for us. I start off with some alone time with Julianna at a moms group from 10-12. Then I come home and take Tamara to her karate class from 12:45-1:30. The afternoons vary from going to the library for storytime, playdates or going to to the park. It was a beautiful day so we went to the park with our neighbors, Annette and Emil. Tamara loves hanging out with Emil. They play great together and seem to have similar personalities. We watched them play until we ran out of liquids for them and of course that is when the crankiness began so we came home. Today was Julianna's 8th week bday and she is doing great. There are no real routines yet as everyday is different. Her daytime naps are always a challenge since I have a very loud 3 1/2 year old at home but her night time sleeping continues to improve.

Exceptional Mothers Day

I am so lucky to have such a wonderful husband who made my Mothers Day so much fun. He spent the entire day cooking multiple delicious dishes for us to enjoy. My favorite were the crab legs and the asparagus with mushrooms....sooooo good. Then Danny, Cecilia and Sofia came over with 7 pounds of Salmon. Can it get any better than this? It was a great day with family, food and great friends. I am truly blessed to have such an appreciative and loving husband, two wonderful kids and amazing people in our lives. Thank You!

Happy Mothers Day!

7 weeks old

Julianna is now 7 weeks old and weighs in at 8 pounds 11 ounces. She is growing fast! We are finally getting a little more sleep now. She has 3 - 3 1/2 hour stretches at night now which is a huge improvement from the first 5 weeks where she only slept 1-2 hours and wouldn't go back to sleep very easily. Now she wakes up to eat and goes right back to sleep. Whew! I almost had to return her. We are still having some difficulty getting her to nap well during the day but that will take some training. For right now, the imortant thing is that she is sleeping better through the night.

Kidspace

After a sick weekend and early week, we finally feel better so we got out of the house and spent the afternoon at Kidspace. We had such a nice time. Tamara enjoyed all the exhibits and I enjoyed watching her. Julianna slept in the sling the entire time so it was a good day.

Sick weekend

Unfortunately, our Cinco de Mayo weekend resulted in Tamara developing walking pneumonia. She had started with a fever last Sunday and then appeared to be getting better when Saturday morning (6 days later), she dwindled into the quietest Tamara I have ever seen. She definitely wasn't herself so we took her to her doctor. You could tell that her doctor was worried and gave her a major tune up with a huge shot in both legs (she didn't even cry), a breathing treatment (she fell asleep on me while she was taking it), oral antibiotics, albuterol inhaler, daily Singular and more Tylenol. Through all of this, Tamara still requested her Jamba juice and white rice from the Chinese restaurant.

Spring Concert

Tamara participated in her school's spring concert today. It was a really nice production and Tamara did a great job. The entire pre-school and kindergarten classes recited a bible verse, counted in a different language and sang a song. Tamara's class is the youngest so their verse was short and they counted from 1-10 in English. Then they sang "Look Around the Praire". It was very cute and Tamara was wonderful considering she wasn't feeling very well.

Playdate

The Tao's came over to meet Julianna today. Connor and Tamara had a great time playing. They took the mustang to the park and Connor got a kick out of Tamara's crazy driving.
