Day at the Zoo

The weather was so nice that we decided to go to the zoo for a few hours. We picked up Sofia so her mom could rest with her new baby and we were off. We had a really nice time with the girls. It is so nice to see them so grown up. No more fighting. The outings are so much more peaceful.

1st year apointment

Julianna went in for her 1 year physical appointment today and she did great, although we had to bribe her with Cherrios. Julianna stats:

Weight: 17 lbs 11 oz, ...... 3%
Height: 30 1/4..... 75%
Head: 44 1/2......25%

Easter Day

We had such a nice Easter! We started off with Church (very difficult with a 4 year old and a highly explorative 1 year old, but we made it through the entire service). Then we went to the Arboretum for a walk. It was such a perfect day to take a walk through the beautiful gardens and trees. We then had lunch at CPK and finished off the day at the dog beach. Whew! What a productive and fun day.

We took my mom out to dinner tonight. We tried out this new mariachi restaurant in Baldwin Park. It was great. We actually had good food and great entertainment in one location. We all had a really nice time and my mom enjoyed family, good food and a great show.

Easter Egg Hunt

Unfortunately, we were unable to attend either of our family's Easter Party's this year so we had to substitute the festivities with non-family related activities. We started off the weekend with an Easter Egg Hunt at Tamara's school. It was such a well planned event and was lots of fun. Tamara got LOTS of candy, got her face painted, ate 2 snow cones, got her favorite balloons, enjoed a petting zoo and got a picture with the Easter bunny. What a day. Julianna was taking a nap for the first part of the event but when she woke up, she came by and enjoyed it also.

Congratulations to the Alvas!

We would like to welcome the new addition to the Alva family, Olivia Nicole Alva. She was born this morning at 8:03 am weighing in at 6 pounds 9.8 oz and measuring 19 1/4 inches. We got to see her just hours after she was born, what a treat! She is very cute and soft, with lots of hair.

Easter Photo Shoot

Julianna was in a good mood so I took her outside to take some Easter pictures. You will see that these pictures show off her personality. She is a little nut and makes us laugh all the time. She goes from being very serious to being completely looney as you can see.

We take Malena to the dog park once a week so she can get some exercise. Unfortunately, after we walk to the park, she is too tired to play with the dogs. Poor thing, she's getting old.

Congratulations Valerie and Adrian!

Our cousin Adrian got married today to a beautiful girl named Valerie. The wedding was located in a mountainside town called "Three Rivers" in Central California. The even took place outdoors with the sound of the river rushing by. It was really nice. We all had a geat time but unfortunately had to leave by 8 because my girls were too cold.

Car ride

I picked up the kids in Downey today and Julianna was in such a good mood. She was singing and cracking herself up in her car seat. She's a silly girl.

Sleeping through the night!

A little update: Julianna has slept through the night for the last 3 days!!!! YAY! Bedtime 7:30pm - Waketime 7:30 am. I feel so rested!
