Playdate

The Tao's came over to meet Julianna today. Connor and Tamara had a great time playing. They took the mustang to the park and Connor got a kick out of Tamara's crazy driving.

Returning from a fun trip to the park.

That was so much fun!

Connor didn't know that his friend Tamara is a Danica Patrick wanna be.

Wow! That was one crazy drive.

Finish off with a little Scooby Doo (Tamara's favorite cartoon).

Lets Celebrate!

This evening, our compadres Danny & Cecilia agreed to become the Godparents of our little Julianna. We were soo happy when they said yes.. They are great people and we know that they are going to be the best godparents to our little girl. We are so fortunate to have them as friends and look forward to spending many great moments together. Thank you guys!!

My poor little Tamara didn't enjoy the evening since she had heat exhaustion from the beach earlier today and spent the entire dinner lying down.

Is it Summer already?

Today it reached the 90's in our part of town so we decided to take a drive to the beach. Who would have thought that it was just as hot in Malibu, 94 degrees. Wow! We stuck it out and had a great time. The first thing we saw when we arrived was a school of dolphins about 150 feet off shore, it was amazing. They were doing tricks and everything. I can't remember ever seeing dolphins so close in Southern California, that made my day. We all had a great time.

5 weeks old today

Julianna turns 5 weeks old today. She weighed in at 7 pounds 11 oz - she has gained 2 pounds since she was born. She is doing well and is growing fast. Sleeping is still a problem but otherwise we are great.

Special Moments

I finally got some sleep last night so I took advantage of it and took the kids to visit their grandparents and great aunt. I have been wanting to get out in the mornings but have been to tired to do so, so today I took advantage of my restful state and off we went.

Bedtime at the Munoz house

We always read at least 3 books to Tamara at bedtime, now Julianna is joining in.

Poor Tamara, she has to share her books now.

Good night.

Storytime

Every Monday evening we go to our local library for storytime. The librarian who reads is excellent and really does a great job telling the stories. Tamara really enjoyes herself. After the stories, the kids get to do a craft on the topic of the day. Today was the letter "A" day so today Tamara made an alligator puppet.

Disneyland

Today, we left Julianna at home and joined our friends on a trip to Disneyland. We had a great day. The day started off quite interesting as I attempted to dress Tamara as Jasmine (since her friends were also dressing up for the day) but my little Tamara would not have it. She was so upset that she had to dress up, she kept crying telling me that she didn't want to be a princess. But, since we were having lunch at Ariel's Grotto, I made her wear the outfit and she hated it. I didn't capture the moments of her uncontollable sobs prior to our lunch but the picture with Ariel basically tells us what she thought of the whole costume thing. At the time, I was upset that she didn't want to look cute, but later I laughed as I realized how similar Tamara is to me. After our lunch, the costume came off and my Tamara was back and ready for roller coasters. Its interesting how we want our kids to do things that we never did because we think it will be fun for them when in reality, it is no fun for them at all.

We got this picture after bribing Tamara with gummy bears.

This picture was a fluke and she smiled on her own because she wanted to climb the pole.

Before we got seated the girls got to take a picture with Ariel, Tamara wasnt interested.
After bribing her with more gummy bears, this was the picture we got.

For some reason she wanted to take this picture.

The costume came off and this is what we got.

More of the true Tamara comes out.

By the end of the day, I realize that Tamara is the kid I always wanted.

Julianna is 4 weeks old

I took Julianna to get weighed today and she now weighs 7 pounds 3 ounces. The kid is growing fast. Life with her has been great and we are enjoying every minute with her. The only thing that could be improved is our sleeping (or lack of it). I think I have averaged 3 hours a night for the last 4 weeks. Yeah, not fun. Otherwise, things are great.

Nice hot day

Today we had a bbq at our compadre's house. The day was nice but very hot. Tamara, Sofia and Tara had a great time playing and we had a great time eating some great food! I have a feeling that this is going to be a great summer.

A visit from the in-laws

The weather has been so nice that we spent the morning at the farmers market and then walked right over to the park. It was very relaxing. We could see the mountains clearly and the weather was beautiful. Julianna hung out with us while Tamara and Dominic played in the playground. Julianna got to spend some quality time with her grandparents.

Child labor laws dont apply here

Unfortunately, we had a plumming incident that prevented us from using any kind of water in our home. After calling the plummers to snake out our pipes, the problem persisted and we had to take more drastic measures. Robert, my dad and Jesse my brother went to work and started digging around our main line after we noticed a leak. They figured out the problem and we once again can use our water. Whew!!! Luckily the problem was not as bad as we thought. We needed help filling in the hole that was dug so we put the 3 & 4 year olds to work. Look at them go.

Using their shovels the get the dirt back in the hole.

Hard workers.

The hole is pretty big.

Great job guys!
