St. Maarten

After much party planning we decided to leave town and take a small vacation to St. Maarten. So the Nagpal's and us packed up and left on Oct 2nd. We had many obstacles along the way incuding a 4 hour layover in Miami that turned into 6 hours due to two engine leaks, Yikes! This was after sitting on the plane for 1 1/2 hours prior to telling us to get off. It was quite the experience. Lets just say that our entire travel time was approximately13 hours. Wow, that was crazy. Well, we finally made it to the island and what did we get.......three full days of crazy rain! We made the best of the conditions that we got and had a great time anyways. The days finally cleared up for the last 2 days of our trip and we finally got to enjoy the crisp clean turqoise waters of the carribiean. It was great. Here are some pics.

Day 1 - Arrival to Juliana International Airport

Our condo - The kitchen

The living room

Our first of many great meals - La Gondola

Day 2 - We go to the French side

We stop for some French drinks.

I got to have Virgin Pina Coladas the entire trip while the the clan lived it up.

Off to more adventures.

Our next stop, LUNCH! - Great food!

Cheers.

Carib, one of the island beers.

After a long 1 1/2 hour drive in traffic we finally made it to Pineapple Petes where we enjoyed some much needed drinks and snacks.

Once again, the food was great!

Having a great time.

Day 3 - Friday - The day continues with trecherous rain so we take a drive to Phillisburg.

Is it ever going to stop?

Nobody in site.

We make the best of the rain and stopped to have some more drinks. Here is Robert with our bartender.

Drunkles and sober me.

We finished off day 3 at a little bar/club called the Alley and listened to some raggae.
Day 4 - Saturday - It finally stops raining

Lunch at Roberts favorite spot.

The popular beer of the trip.

Us at Orient Beach

Me and my hubby.

After a few hours of enjoying the beach, we headed home to change and have dinner.

Niveet decided to have a 2 pound lobster for dinner. He even got to meet him before they submurged him in boiling hot water and placed him on his plate.

All gone.

I made friends with an 8 pound lobster. He wasnt too happy with me.

Day 5 - Sunday at Sunset Beach (Airplane beach)

After another great lunch at Lee's, we headed on over to Sunset beach to check out the airplanes. We didn't realized how dangerous it actually was until a plane took off and splashed us with debris, sand, exhaust and fumes. Yuk! We had to experience it though.

They mean it!

The plane is closer than it appears.

Ready to land!

Enjoying the water before a plane takes off.

We finished off the day at our beautiful beach.
