Karina 6 month MD appt

Karina went in for her 6 month doctor appointment today. She weighed in at 14 pounds 1 ounce (10%), measured 26 inches tall (50%), and had a head circumference of 42.5 cm (50%). She received a great bill of health!

My little girl has changed so much in the last month. I am so excited to say that she has started sleeping MUCH better. We have had a few days now where she sleeps from bedtime (8ish) till about 3 am. I then go feed her and put her back in her crib and she has slept till about 6 am. This sounds a little like an early riser but for now it is great because I am not waking up every hour and a half like I had for the last 6 months. Woot Woot!!! Lets hope this just continues to get better. So no more little baby next to me anymore. She is in with Julianna and can sleep through Juli's snoring. That is great!

She has also started eating cherrios!! She loves them. She is a little piggy and LOVES to eat. So far she has had sweet potatoes, carrrots, squash, bannanas, bluberries and apples. We have held the cereals for a while because she doesnt seem to like them much but I will introduce them again later. She is drinking 6 oz of breast milk when she drinks from a bottle and chuggs it down.

Karina is also starting to squirm around when she is on the ground. She definitely cannot be left alone anymore. She loves to grab everything also. First thing she goes for when you pick her up is your hair. If you dont have hair, then she will pinch your neck and cheeks. You thinks its cute but it HURTS!

Lastly, Karina LOVES her sisters and they LOVE her. Its amazing to watch the bonds developing. They can play together for hours. They smile and laugh and really enjoy each other's company. Its so cute. Tamara thinks that she is her baby and takes the best care of her. I love seeing that. I hope to nurture those feelings so they continue as they grow.

Easter Sunday 2011

Our Easter fun continued today with a great day with Julianna's friends (and now our friends), the Peterson's. The girls enjoyed another Easter egg hunt, playtime and a great lunch. We couldn't ask for anything more out of this weekend. It was just great!

Easter Saturday

I think Easter is becoming one of my favorite holidays. We spent so much time with family and had an amazing day. Our day started off at an Easater Egg Hunt here in Pasadena. Nana and Dominic were in town so we went to Paz Naz and enjoyed the morning. The kids LOOVVED the event. They hunted for easter eggs, got their faces painted, played games and had fun in bouncers. The smile on Dominic's face was priceless. Later in the day we went to Annette's house for her yearly Easter party. As usual, she outdid herself. The kids had soo much fun that thehy didnt want to go home. They had an easter egg hunt, played games and had a blast playing with their cousins in the bouncer. This was such a fun day for all of us. I cant wait till next year!!

Spotlight award

Our little Tamara received a spotlight award at school today for being great in every subject. We are so proud of our little girl. She has sure grown up this year and has just exceeded our expectations academically, socially and all around.

Julianna's Easter Celebration

Julianna had a fun Easter party at her school today. Her teacher Miss. Minette is the best. What a great teacher.

Malena

This was a very sad day for our family. Our little Malena got sick and we had to put her down. She had cancer since 2008 and lived a nice healthy life until today. She got sick yesterday and just didn't get better. We gave her today to see if she would pull through but she just got worse and started crying. She wasnt able to get up anymore so we knew it was time. It was very sudden for us so that made it harder for us, but we knew we had to do it. We will miss our little girl :(
